Volunteer Station Launches at Dadaocheng Wharf
The “Volunteer Station” fund-raised by the Xinlinjiang Community Development Association of Taipei City was launched at Dadaocheng wharf on June 7. Consisting of the Anti-Corruption Volunteers and the Riverbank Volunteer Team from the DOGE and the Hydraulic Engineering Office respectively, inspections on riverside roads and facilities, weekend anti-corruption promotions, as well as night-cycling patrol are flexibly provided. By means of the services as well as the proactive caring from volunteers, prosperity of the riverside in Taipei is once again promoted.
The Volunteer Station was fund raised by Ye Lin-chuan and Wang Shih-chien, councillors of Taipei City Council. The two councillors attended the opening ceremony with relative representatives from the city government. Also invited, representatives of the DOGE pointed out that some of the Anti-Corruption Volunteers were part of the Xinlinjiang Community Development Association of the Datong District. The association not only devotes in anti-corruption voluntary services like monitoring road construction sites, they also saw how much the tourists love the riverside on the weekends and came up with the idea of the Volunteer Station. They provide other public welfare promotion services, hoping to see more of the citizens responding to what they have done, moreover, form a clean and effective society in the government.
