DOGE Unveils the Long-Proposed Reading Event, Advocating for Honesty and Trust
Working with Mr. Lin’s group of story-telling, the Department of Government Ethics (DOGE) of the Taipei City Government held an opening ceremony for the event Month of Honesty and Trust for Children at the Taipei Public Library, Jinxin Branch on the 30th afternoon. Aspiring to promote good reading habits, this event was led by members of the story-telling group and the volunteers at the public library to share three inspiring vignettes- “Three Pieces of Most Precious Items”, “This is not My Hat”, and “Rosie’s Little Secrets”. While the children are still young, these stories serve to enlighten them with the virtual values of honesty and trust. DOGE pointed out, that the Department has planned the event for a while in order to encourage a reading-friendly, family-bonding environment for both the parents and their children, to educate the children the idea of always being honest and trustable. Therefore, in this upcoming September, the DOGE will work closely with the Taipei Public Library and Mr. Lin’s group to run this long-planned event- Month of Honesty and Trust for Children. On every September Saturday afternoon, members of Mr. Lin’s group will take the lead to read aloud the vignettes to all the participants at all branches of Taipei Public Library. Excitingly, the reading event is followed by a Q&A session on a rewarding basis. Winners who answer questions correctly will receive rewards including bicycles, library coupons, and many other great prizes. All family members and friends are welcome to join us at this special event, sharing together the unforgettable experiences of honesty and trust in every single child’s mind at this final episode of summertime.
